All the schools except LECOM are located in major cities with lower stats compared to other medical schools in the same region/area. Of course they get the most applications.

Western U is in Lebanon, OR!

That is referring to the CA, pomona campus. Not the OR one.
For LECOM, cheap tuition and no secondary essay !

Lecom includes 3 medical schools not just one. That is why there is so many applicants to LECOM.

Most of the MD ones are private schools as well, so there's no IS bias.

These are established private schools so ostensibly they give applicants across the USA equal preference for seats.

For most, lower GPAs and MCAT medians and 10th %iles. Gtown and GWU and also in DC, while the Philly Triplets is in, well, Philly!

BU is in Boston.

LECOM has cheap tuition.

If you look at numbers, all except BU have lower LizzyM scores, and wider 10-90th percentiles for stats.

As is typical for US Snooze, their numbers are INACCURATE. always trust MSAR. GWU and Drexel received >15000 apps last year.

They are the universal backup schools. Everyone applies to their real choices and these guys.

Well I think there is alot of factors at play. With the exception of LECOM (since it takes into account 3 schools) there stats have something to do with it. If you look at drexel and George Washington I think being in a major city helps them. I think alot of people look at the lower stats and some consider it their backup schook. Others look at it who have lower stats and say it could happen. Then location helps helps draw people in. Same could be said about RFUMS, BU, Temple. I don't think people view Jefferson and Tufts as backups but the location helps and the stats aren't so crazy high that it's impossible. Both mid range schools. Georgetown I'm sure is a location thing. The DO schools in looking at LECOM includes 3 campuses. The others with high apps are due to location and safety schools status I guess.
