Ok, so SIU-SDM is still holding my application. Why, I really don't know, they wouldn't tell me. I called them two weeks ago and asked if the class was full, and if so, if I was going to be recieving the bad news in the mail. Anyway, yes, the class is full, but to this day, I still don't have anything telling me "we're sorry, good luck next year." I know it sounds terrible, but at this point I just want some closure. I'm just not the type that can have things up in the air like this, this late in the summer. Do they honestly think that there is reason for holding my app at this point? What is the hold up? Anyone else in this situation with any school?

This happened to me last year at SIU. I never heard anything. No letter, no waitlist, no letter to say I wasn't on the waitlist. Nothing. If things go the same way for the 2007 cycle then you may need to give them another call to request a rejection letter. I took them off the reapply2007 list of preferred schools and saved almost two hundred dollars in application fees.

I thought this post was a joke - you know someone reposting something from last year, but the date is for today.

So you're saying that the SIU admissions department actually told you that the incoming class for 2008 is already full?? Pu-Leaze! I find that hard to believe considering they told me that they weren't even sending out interview invitations until September. And how can it be full when they can't make offers of admission until Dec 1st?

And as far as it being "this late into the summer" .... get real. It's early July. Technically we're only about 2.5 weeks into summer!

It looks like the person applied last cycle and is hoping for an acceptance in the waning days before the 2007-08 academic years starts. The 2008 cycle is still just getting started.

I think the OP applied last year and is wondering about his status for the Fall of 2007.

Whoa there, calm down, I am pretty sure he is talking about the 2007 cycle. Thats why he is saying that it is late in the summer..........

I'm definately not talking about 2008? that would be a bit early.
yes, they told me the class is full for 2007 which makes sense to me, yet i'm not getting anything in the mail. so i guess i have to call and demand my rejection letter! weird.

To the OP, i'm sorry, I know it's difficult, and I know you want to know where you stand, but I think at this point it's time to let it go. Good luck next cycle!
