why is rocket science to get passport photo 2x2 size

i mean relly

put on button down/dress shirt/blouse, comb hair, smile, take photo

print

tahts all

p.s. teeth brushing before is a plus but not required

begs the question of whether these guys are ready for a dental school curriculum that might force them to use skills beyond basic googling.
 
but you don't understand. Maybe they will get rejected for wearing blue shirt or blouse that doesnt pop their eye color. This is very important. I can't even believe this post exist.

Should I wear red, white and blue or yellow and green? Do you think if I wear an American flag they'll think I'm not from Brasil? But if I wear a Brasilian flag, will they think I'm too un-American?

Maybe I should just wear yellow, red, blue and green? Should I go dressed as a rainbow?

I actually have a 2.2 oGPA, 1.9 sGPA and a 14 AA/ 12 TS/ 15 PAT... you think I have a shot at Colombia, UPenn and Yale? I'm only applying to three schools btw, so I gotta make sure I choose right!

I feel like I probably need to make a comprehensive Glimmer thread about "How to take an effective admissions photo."

As a fair warning, it will likely be my longest post yet. I mean, there are so many intricacies. It's almost hard to capture it all in words. I don't think I can do an effective job without including diagrams and Excel workbooks.

Because I was brought up on idealistic values saying a person is more important than how they look, despite the horrible reality that they are very important in our society.
Because I applied to over 20 schools, many requiring photos, and I don't want to pay $12/2 photos when I'm already paying $4k+ on AADSAS + supplemental fees.
Because I spent so f***ing long studying for the DAT, paying for everything, editing my PS, professional experience, and any open ended text answers that it would be a damn shame that something as simple as a picture can negate all of that.
Because I hate wearing suits; it makes me feel like a snob. Because my webcam takes better pictures than my DSLR. Because Walgreens took a ****tier picture than my webcam, but have a white background. Because all those dental schools I applied to have their own niche requirements (just take a picture vs have a white background vs passport photo). Because I Googled and SDN'ed with mixed responses.
Most of all because all of us now going through it are actually going through it.

Everything seems easy with hindsight.
 
how did you get a yakuza tattoo in china? isn't the yakuza japanese?

(Okay, so I did have plenty of worries last cycle, founded and unfounded. However... even despite how much I agonized over every detail of my application... this was one thing that did NOT worry me! Schools just want to be able to recognize you for interview purposes. It makes sense. Just take a regular picture where you look like you've had a shower and put on a decent shirt. Print it out on some glossy paper. It doesn't have to be a professional head shot!)

Truly, no offense was intended.

Probably means absolutely nothing when it comes to the application process, they just want to put a face to your name, make it a little more personal, not to judge your looks.

Dunno where you went to get these photos, but I think I got 10 last year for less than $10 at CVS.

Everyone here did this as well, a simple 2x2 picture will not "negate all of that" no matter how badly you mess up on it (if that is possible).

Welcome to the real world, where suits are formal wear. Also, don't need to wear a suit in the picture, it's probably a good idea, but I only wore a v-neck shirt personally.

You're going way too deep into it, a Walgreen's photo quality, your webcams photo quality, whatever, is fine. Passport photo is essentially a white background photo, they're basically all the same.

We all went through it as well, hence why we're all confused at how incredibly difficult it seems to be this year.

Yeah sorry, I guess it hit a sore note with me because I thought this forum was supposed to help people and not to ridicule those who are asking. I didn't realize this thread was just joking around, lol.
