So I recently started tackling the biology section in my study materials. I've been reading Kaplan and EK simultaneously in order to get at least two perspectives on every topic. I've noticed an alarming trend, however, namely that there are many things covered in each book that aren't covered in the other.

This problem seems to mostly afflict the Kaplan book, as EK contains tons of details which are not even hinted at by Kaplan. Are these extraneous? Has anyone prepared for the MCAT (and done well) using Kaplan's Bio write-up exclusively? Thanks for input

I just took the 5/22 MCAT, and I used the EK series to prepare. I felt like almost every major topic I saw on the actual test (save for some strange discrete questions) was covered pretty well.

Not knowledgeable about Kaplan though...but I feel like at least the fundamentals should be a point of commonality between the two.
