Any known residency programs with a focus on wilderness medicine or EMS training?
There used to be a search filter on EMRA map but looks like they took it off.

Fresno, Colorado, Baystate, Augusta all have pretty heavy wilderness.
As does whatever the name of the program at Virginia Tech.

Basically, anywhere in the country that has an EMS fellowship (which are a lot of places) will have opportunities for EMS stuff in residency. Certain places have a heavier focus on EMS compared to others: namely, Pitt, Cincy, UW, UNM, etc. That being said, EMS is so entrenched within EM programs now that most places would likely easily have a way for you to get involved with local/regional EMS activities.

Wilderness is a little bit more niche, but Fresno comes to mind as a program that I interviewed at that had some great wilderness opportunities. Stanford and UNM are other great options as well.

Man Fresno...talk about a hot cauldron of a city. I interviewed there and liked what I saw (except one resident who interviewed me)...but it literally averages 100F every day for 3 months out of the year there. It's just excruciatingly hot.

OhioHealth EM residency offers both an EMS track and a wilderness track. They also have a brand new EMS Fellowship program
