Will AADSAS crash on June 3rd?

I am just wondering if the website will be functioning as normal on June 3rd, since there will be a great volume of access on that day...

Yeah, it normally goes pretty slow on the first day - though it doesn't really matter if you submit on day one compared to day five (etc), they only mail out the applications in batches, and they still need to verify your transcripts before they can do even that - and in the early season when there's so much backup, that can take weeks.

I hear they send like 500-600/week right? so if they get 4000 apps on day 1, they will take about 6 weeks to mail them?

if transcript verification takes like 4 weeks, then i guess you are right, submitting in the first 2-4 weeks makes no difference

I dont really care about when they send the applications to dental school.

What matters is whether or not dental school can see the date you actually submitted?

Anyone know?

I don't think schools really care about the date you actually submitted the application... the important thing is that they get your application sooner rather than later.

I guess so long as your part of the first batch that gets sent in July, then you are good.

Generally speaking the first couple batches get the same, higher priority. It's only when your app gets sent out on batch 8 and later that your app is considered "late"

Yeah, since the schools don't even start looking at them until August or September, as long as you get it in by July you're still early.

Some schools like Case and UConn send out interviews in early August, so its best to be in the first batch if you want those early interviews, IMO. But, I agree with the posters above, it won't really make that much of a difference in the long run.

so in 2008-2009 ~13k people applied

so we can safely infer that <10 k will create an account and so on. thats actually not bad for server load. it wont crash or anything like that.
