Will buying many older versions of Kaplan DAT help?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to prepare for the DAT's and save money. I was thinking that since each Kaplan book comes with a few sample DAT exams, I should buy a couple used Kaplan books so I can practice more.

However, I don't want to get the 2010 edition, 2009 edition, and 2008 edition and find out all the exam questions and explanations are the same, thus wasting my money.

Anyone tried this method (of buying older Kaplan versions) for getting more DAT practice exams?

Any other suggestions for getting more DAT practice exams cheap? Thanks!

I purchased second kaplan dat book not expecting the study material to be different but at least the practice questions. It was exactly the same. The only revision I noticed was the paragraph spacing and page layout. So dont waste your money.

The more practice exams the better. But Kaplan exams are too easy and not what you should depend on solely. Achiever, TopScore, CrackDAT PAT are the consensus picks. They are harder than Kaplan and will better prepare you. I think there is an exam on the ADA web site as well, why not it's free. Definitely check out the strategies for the PAT in the Kaplan blue book though, they are helpful. Good luck

Agreed. Kaplan exams aren't the best practice tests to take and prepare for the DAT. Definitely go Achiever and TopScore along with CrackDAT PAT.

Any practice is good practice. Just know that the Kaplan PAT is much easier than the real thing. I got a really old kaplan book (2003 I think) and it had different practice tests and it was only 3 bucks on ebay. I'd get my hands on as much material as possible.
