Will C's in both semesters of physics ruin chances of top school?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If the rest of your application is up to par, two C's in physics will likely not destroy your application.

If my physics grades are C's do I still have hope at Brown, BU, UNC etc
I have low grades in both organics and biochem and just got my third MD II. Given, none of them are from "top 20" schools. Just make sure the rest of your application is strong and don't make excuses for your bad grades and you should be okay. It would also help to kill the physics portion of the MCAT if you haven't taken it already to show that you are capable of handling the material.

I got a C+ in a bio class and just interviewed at Harvard, with a few more MD IIs lined up as well. Granted, I went to a top undergrad known for grade deflation, did well on all my other classes, got a 14 on the bio section of the MCAT, and have done a lot of less typical pre-med activities/took some gap years. Point is, I was pretty devastated when I got the grade but I learned a lot from it and I don't think that one grade defines my application. Also, who knows, I don't know that I'm getting in and maybe this grade is going to be something that keeps me out of some schools - it's not really productive to dwell on or worry about this though. I think all you can really do is keep moving forward and not let it paralyze you - good luck!

Not just top schools, all schools bruh. All schools except the Caribbean 😉

I have multiple Cs in biology classes and a ****load of interviews.

I don't say this to brag, I say it to illustrate the fact that 1 letter does not make or break a medicals school application.

Are you a URM? Exactly how many C's have you gotten?

A's in all my other pre-med classes; chem, orgo, bio, calc and stats

it was jut calc based physics that ****ed me

hanv't taken MCAT

no I am not uRM

If you do not get into medical school, your grades/GPA will not be the reason why.

It's not even worth thinking about which schools until you have taken the MCAT.

I feel ya. We are very much alike. I've gotten A's in all mine so far except for immunology. Right now I'm taking Physics 1 and it isn't a pleasant experience so far. I just want to make it out with a B. Trying to avoid the C. I've got a 3.75 cumulative GPA right now.
