are you kidding? probably more like 50k a month. and I cant wait to be making that kind of money. I have dreamed about being rich my entire life, and I know I will be, and soon. :soexcited:

sorry, but like 99% of other people, I am going to go to medical school to make the big bucks some day. and no one will stop me.

I was expecting some fake angst... you.... you have disappointing me.

I now want a burrito.

you don't want to volunteer or do anything for the community, but you want to be a doctor. I think you should. Not to be harsh, I haven't read what anyone else posted, but you sound a little selfish.

but what for? I have higher stats than like 90+% of DO matriculants, I have shown I can do fine in medical school. sorry but volunteering is practically irrelevant, I can be a fine doctor without being involved with community service. I want job security, solid pay and I want protection from competition. you cant reallu get that with say, law or finance or banking.

I'll bite again. :sly: The reason the numbers are lower on average for DO admissions is the weight adcoms put into other stuff. Good luck if you think they'll drop to their knees at the sight of those numbers alone. Maybe shoot a few apps down south to the islands..?

Well that, and the fact the applicant pool for DO has lower stats on average. But yeah, one can't expect to get into medical school on MCAT/GPA alone.

Make the average metrics 3.0 & 25 ---> still won't likely save OP.

Though what you say is true, osteopathic schools still have the option of picking up classes with higher metric averages than they do, which, imo, shows the particular emphasis on factors besides metrics.

This is just rationalization, but maybe the lower average applicant metrics for osteopathic schools are so as an effect of osteopathic schools having a reputation for historically accepting lower metrics (due to different emphases) and DO stigma (people that are competitive for MD tend to go MD).
