Do pharmacy schools look at all your PCAT score attempts? I was going to apply this year but decided that since I'm not ready for the PCAT I'll just wait until next year. It's not worth the risk right?

It depends. They will state on their websites (usually) if they look at the highest or the most recent composite score.

I wasn't as ready as I wanted to be before I took the PCAT, but I took it and applied and started pharmacy school after that. Taking it more than once is gonna be ok.

Some schools take the best subsections from all of your PCAT taken and make a composite. Some take the highest PCAT score, and some take the most RECENT PCAT score. You should search up the schools that you are interested in and check. If it's not posted on their website, I would recommend calling them and asking.

If you take the PCAT MULTIPLE times and still get a bad score then I'd recommend you start looking for a new career and saving your $200/test...unless you somehow get a waiver to take the PCAT for free, by all means keep taking it.

Remember:

0-59% = F
60-69% = D
70-79%= C
80-89% = B
90-99% = A

This is how you should really score your PCAT. Ace your PCAT ^_^

It varies with each school, although I wouldn't let one poor PCAT score detour you as it could be something as simple as a missed bubble that resulted in a bad score. I took it twice. I know some people who took it three times. Just try to be as prepared as you can next time!

I'd take this comment with a grain of salt. I have a friend at MUSC who got a 50 something on his PCAT but also had a solid GPA, 2 years of experience as a tech and good LOR's. In my opinion experience is more important than the PCAT. How on earth can you explain to the adcom that you are interested in becoming a pharmacist if you have never even worked or set foot in one?
