Medical Will my PI count as science letter of recommendation?

Hello,

If I got a letter of recommendation from my PI who I have received letter grades and course credits from, will that count as a science letter for medical schools?

My understanding is no, as they want LORs from people who have taught you in classes.

In my particular case, the research actually counts as a class since I got a letter grade and credits for it. On top of this, I am also taking a thesis writing course with the same PI for a letter grade and credits this semester.

Should be OK then, but double check with what admissions websites for each med school that you apply to say.

I would make sure with the schools directly. You don't want to send this letter in and then get rejected because you didn't meet the science letter requirements.
