I accepted a subsidized stafford loan in college back in 2010 but now that subsidized loans do not exist anymore, I'm wondering if this subsidized loan will turn into an unsubsidized loan during med school?

No, it will remain a subsidized loan.

However, you may have to fill out paperwork for deferral, since your school will tell the federal government that you graduated. I didn't have any loans from undergrad carry over, so I'm not sure how this is done.
