English isn't my first language for several years so this is like a text wall for me lol
Description: Located at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Microbiology Laboratory. Perform a variety of microbiology laboratory functions with supervision. This includes demonstration and cultivation and isolation of pathogenic bacteria, mycoplasma and fungi from clinical and necropsy specimens of animals. Perform ELISA testing for demonstration of clostridial enterotoxins. Perform and read antimicrobial susceptibility tests by a automated sensitivity system. Preparation of reagents, and maintenance of cleanliness for the laboratory. Disposal of biological waste. Weekend infectious disease control monitoring of salmonella. Computer entry, billing and report entry.
The job pays decently well ($12 an hour to start), training is for pay which is about 20 hours a week and after that shifts are around 6 hours per week. I am already working as a medical scribe which is about a 15 hour per week time commitment and in a research lab which is 6 hours per week but I can handle stress and time very well.
How will this benefit my application? The money is good but I do not need it right now, I just want as much health experience as possible. I guess my main question is, how does research affect the medical school application?
