NYT Magazine reported that Yale University admitted a former Taliban "spin doctor" and PR man. How's that for an EC! Here is one of the many links about this:

No more volunteering in hospitals for me!

Yeah, I guess Afghanistan's been done, but maybe you could go work for the Sudan for awhile. Then it's just EZ admission into any med school after that.

OK, but actually he's a nondegree student (comparable to Harvard Extension School) at the undergrad. His visa was approved by the State Department, which means that as far as the government is concerned he is not a criminal. To that extent, would you really want Yale to exclude him because of his unsavory opinions? (Insert slippery slope argument here.)

Also, I just read the hilarious article that you linked. Flagg Youngblood's quote: "That my alma mater would embrace an ambassador from one of America’s declared and defeated enemies and in the same breath keep ROTC and military recruiters off campus shows where Yale’s allegiance falls. Yale’s actions show that they consider the U.S. military more evil than the Taliban."

Damn, that's some inference on his part. Who would have known that *not* denying education to someone would be so antipatriotic?
