So during my first 3 years of University, I wasn't too sure what I was doing or wanted to take. My GPA was 3.3... so okay. But my last 2 years I had some inspiration and received a 3.88 GPA. Now here is the kicker, my first 3 years I only took 3-4 classes a semester with dropping a few (having 6 W's). But my last 2 years, each semester I took all 5 course and received my 3.88 GPA. I did much better once I knew what I wanted, yet with even a heavier course load. May I add all my withdrawn courses were psychology and math courses... not prerequisites. So in the end, my cumulative GPA is 3.56.

My DAT scores are as follows:
Reading: 21
Biology: 21
Chemistry: 21
AA:21
Perceptual: 22
Carving: 26

I applied to: BC, Alberta, Western Ontario, Boston, Texas San Antonio, Texas Houston, Phoenix Arizona, and Pacific in California.

Think I have a shot? or Any other schools should I look into?

UBC you need 22-23 on DAT, and cumulative GPA of 86-87%
Alberta you need 21-22 on DAT, and cumulative GPA of 3.9 (range is 3.69-4.00)
Western (where you have the best shot at), need 21 on DAT, and 2 best year GPA of 88-89%
BU you need 20 on DAT, and cumulative GPA of 3.4
UoP you need 21 on DAT, and cumulative GPA of 3.5

I, however, don't know how schools consider W in to calculation. But Western would only look at your best 2 years, so I assume they won't look at your W's from your first 3 years.

You should contact the individual schools you are interested in attending.

Below is a response from NOVA.

How are dropped classes viewed on an application? Is there a certain number that automatically raise a red flag?

A couple won’t really hurt you – they can be overlooked – but many “W’s” can be a negative if there is a definite trend throughout your academic history. We also look to see what happened to that dropped class (i.e., if that student took it in a later semester, or took it later at a community college).

I agree with Nancy, while I had 1 W on my transcript, it was for a class I didn't need. Check with each of the schools you plan on applying to.
