Today Rx Psychologists in New Mexico were granted permission to use evaluation and management (E&M) codes and, at the same rates, as psychiatrists. Previously we were not allowed to use these codes so this is a victory on 2 fronts: we have gained access to codes previously restricted to psychologists and, also, we can bill at the same reimbursement rates as our MD colleagues.
Since this isn't a big news item, I can't provide a link but I just wanted to share the progress we are making here in New Mexico!
