Anyone here wishing they'd applied to more schools? I have a couple I regret not applying to. At this point, I'm wishing I'd applied to a few more places just so I'd get more email from them, whether good or bad.

I'm in the opposite situation because I applied to a total of 40 schools throughout the US and Canada and now Christmas is coming and well I have no money 🙁 .....

More schools? Probably not (I applied to 21)
Different Schools? Absolutely. After visiting schools for interviews, I have a much better idea of exactly what I'm looking for in a school.

yes I do .. wish I apply to more schools ... 12 schools is a bit risky in this process .... oh come on, 1 of the 12 school must like me ... come on, any of you, accept me, so I can live in peace =)

I wish I had applied to more. I applied to 16 or 17 originally. Found out one didn't take out of staters at all (immediate rejection, obviously). Others were way out of my league with my MCAT score (mostly UC's). Then I find out later that there are some schools (lower tier) that are more likely to take people like me (for a variety of reasons), which I wished I had applied to. I currently only have 6 secondaries out there with potential for interview/acceptance. That's a really small number to me. Oh well. There's always next year! 😀

I applied to 27 schools and I've only heard from 2!!! So yeah I wish I had applied to more. Unfortunately, even if I did add on, it's financially impossible for me. Looks like black market kidney selling is in my immediate future 🙁

I applied to 24 and wish I could take away the 2 that rejected me without so much as looking at my application (out of stater). There are 2 other schools I would have invested that money in that I would have at least gotten a second glance from. But, then again, they would have been two schools I wouldn't have had a strong interest in and pro'ly would have just taken my money and time and rejected me later......so I take that back, I feel good 🙂

I think 50 is good enough for me...

damnnn boy 😱 , did u have to take out a stafford loan to apply to that many?
it must have been worth it though since u got into a good school, congrats on that

I just added 2 schools last week. Late, yes, but I'm desparate.

Total apps: 21.

I applied to 20 initially but only completed secondaries for 15 due to financial constraints. I'm debating if it is still worth it to add G-town this late in the game.

I wish I applied to more schools out of state. I really want to get out of TX!!!!

I'm in the same boat, but I am not going anywhere until I finish med school in texas. Texas med school is one of the best deal out there! 30k for one year, or 30K for four years? Not a difficult question! You would have to be crazy to leave texas if you are a texas resident.

Yeah, one of the schools I wished I had applied to has a Dec. 15 deadline. But I don't know if it's worth it or not either. I guess I've come to grips with reapplying next year, so it's hard for me to justify throwing in more schools last second like this. Oh well. Everything will work out for the best, I'm sure.

Well, call me crazy, I beat it out of that hot, humid state nearly 10 years ago! Best decision I ever made. 'Course now I'm going to have to pay lots more dough for school, but oh well.

Wow, I only applied to 13 schools and thought that was a bundle. How're you guys affording all those interviews?

I wish I had applied to some schools in Chicago. Other than that I think 16 was an OK number for me, given that I'm pretty confident I'll get in *somewhere* on the East coast and that I refuse to go to some rural red state no matter how good the med school is. I have no conception of how one might have the time/motivation to complete 50 secondaries.

i did 25. i'd originally narrowed it down to 18 schools, but then right before i submitted my AMCAS, i chickened out and threw everything back on again.

i don't regret applying to any schools, but there are definitely a few (just one or two) that i wish i had added that I didn't.

Yea, I wish I applied to less. ended up being about 19 i think. I could've done 14 but I was paranoid :scared:

I guess i`m very lucky. Aug MCAT, Applied to 9 schools, aready interviewed at 3 school, got accepted in 1. awaiting another acceptance letter this week and the 3rd week in january. Have a 4th interview lined up in january. I got rejected by vandy and i`m awaiting 1 more secondary from a state institution that accepts 2% out of state and 4 more interview invite.

Yes! I applied to 12 schools, but 8 of them (Yes, 8!) are in Texas, and 7 are in the Texas match (which means that I can only get one acceptance from these 7). So far, I've received 8 interviews, 1 acceptance, 1 rejection, and waiting to hear from 3 more schools. Applying to more schools means more interviews, and more interviews mean more choices in the end....

But then again, JDAD has a point....it's REALLY hard to beat (and ignore) Texas in-state tuition (sigh).

i wish i had applied to a few more hopkins/harvard type schools. i didn't think i had a chance at any super awesome schools, but i've gotten a lot of great interviews, so maybe i could have gotten even more if i'd applied to those schools.

and yeah, i also realized what i'm looking for in a school a lot better by going to interviews, so i know there are definitely some i could have left out.

I wish I had applied to less. This year my christmas shopping will be financed by my credit card 🙁

I guess I would have like to have applied to a school or two in the Chicago area. And McGill, I would have liked to have seen what that was all about. And Hawaii, you can never go wrong going to Hawaii...
