Hi all,

I was recently accepted into more than one school and received a generous aid package. I am hoping to email the other schools that I will be withdrawing my application. I don't want to burn bridges for residency so am wording my emails carefully (though I know they won't really care). Is mentioning finances / being closer to home okay for reasons in the email? Or should I just not put why and decline the offer of admission? What's the consensus when sending these emails?

No need to put why. Just say you would like to withdraw your application because you have committed to another medical school. Thank them for their time and consideration.

You really think med schools are vindictive enough to keep your name on a Bad Boy/Girl list to give to the PDs at their home hospital to blackball you forever?

Really?
