Withdrawing apps

Sorry if this question has already been addressed. Say you apply to a bunch of schools and decide not to complete secondaries for a few of them. Do you NOT send in the secondary and wait for them to reject you OR do you call the school and withdraw your application. I'd rather not have unneccessary rejections on my record. thoughts?

It can never hurt to send them a quick and professional letter indicating that you will not be applying to their school this year...they will definitely appreciate it.
