Withdrew from DIY postbac, is it over?

I began a DIY postbac but had to withdraw due to health problems .I will have an entire term of W's now.

If I go back again, 2 years of DIY postbac (all science classes) will bring both my cGPA and sGPA to around 3.2 (only if I make straight As)


Is it worth a shot again or have all doors to DO schools been shut? Time to move on?

"The goal is NOT to raise your cGPA to a sky high level, but rather show that the you of now is not the you of then, and that you can handle a medical school curriculum. Thus, take 1-2 years of a DIY post-bac, or a 1 year SMP, preferably one given at a medical school. Do well in either of these programs. A 3.5+ should suffice for a DO school, while 3.7+ will be needed for an MD school."

If you can pull 3.5+ from DIY post-bacc, as Goro said, you'll be very competitive 🙂
It is also said that when you do a DIY post-bacc, you aren't repairing GPA 🙂 But proving that you can pull good grades within those 2 years.

Oh, and you had health problems? You're applying to med school, not Spartan agoge. Just make sure you have everything documented. You aren't in as bad shape as you think.

Is that because of the uncertainty associated with being successful in a 2 year postbac?

Or because of the time investment?

Id be hesitant because even if i were to get all A's, id have a below average gpa even for DO schools, and might not even get in after all that time investment

Too risky for me. What makes you so sure you can get all As anyway? You had trouble doing it before
