Do you think it’s easier, the same, or harder for women to get accepted into an OMFS program?

There has been a push by AAOMS for more women to enter the profession. I think if a female applicant has the objective metrics met such as CBSE scores and class rank, then no. But a program could just not like you for whatever reason. If a program doesn't think a woman fits into their culture, they'll rank them as an applicant low. So, considering that angle, the answer could be yes. For me it comes down to each specific program.

By and large, I don’t think anyone cares. I don’t know if it still holds, but for the longest time women made up about 10% of applicants, and 10% of residents. It feels like most programs are full of dudes because that’s who applies.
