I'm strongly considering pursuing omfs, and I was wondering if there are any female omfs residents out there who could share your thoughts on life in that field. Also, what is the general consensus about having completed a GPR before being accepted to OMFS programs? Is it a requirement in most programs, or is it just a bonus?

Although it might make you a better candidate, there are currently NO (as in ZERO) OMS programs that REQUIRE a one-year residency program to be completed.

This is according to the ADEA/PASS website. Although that site does list completing a residency program as an option schools may use for their requirement criterion, no programs are currently requiring that.
