I got three interview invitations today -two by snail mail (temple and UMDNJ) and one via email (tufts). I've already interviewed at UConn (10/5), and I have an interview at maryland the middle of next month (11/13). I've been quite restless these past few weeks; it's nice to finally get some replies from dental schools. Good luck to everyone with admissions process!

Why don't you make a thread about it.

thanks 🙂 oh if anyone has any questions about how the uconn interview went feel free to ask me.. i'd be happy to help

some useful info:
-interviewees have over a 50% chance of being accepted (90-95 are offered acceptances and about 160-180 applicants are interviewed)
-find out more info about the new "401" program (advanced general dentistry residency) that they are implementing... It seems impressive
-80-90% of there students go on to advanced training

the interview itself:
-i was interviewed by two faculty members. i sat at the head of the table and they sat on both sides of me.
-they went back and forth asking me questions... generally about my application (extracurriculars) and my interest in UConn/dentistry...
-there were also lots of spin off questions i.e. I am the president of a volunteer organization and they asked me which activity/event I enjoyed the most and why?
-my advice: be cool, calm, and collected! most of all, be yourself... they are just trying to get a feel for what kind of person you are

Good luck!

That's funny...the first thing they asked me at my interview was also about some random extracurriculars, even before asking about my goals or discussing dentistry or anything like that. It's probably a good ice breaker since they like to ask things you're comfortable with.
