from those pharmacy interns, How many hours you guys work per week?
I am currently a P3, and thinking about working once day a week. But I have to drive more than 160 miles(round trip) to work. For those stores which are close to school, they are very limited hours, maybe once a month.
Does it worth to drive such a long distance to work?

You'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth it. For me, 8 gallons of gas and 11+ hours of work and travel time per shift would make me unhappy.

Have you asked your district manager (or whoever is in charge) about finding you more hours at stores closer to where you live? One shift per month seems very low. If there is really such a shortage of hours, maybe it's time to look for a new employer.

Oh, to answer your opening question: I'm scheduled to work 8 hrs/wk during school, and 40 hrs/wk otherwise, and I like that arrangement.

Yeah, I think it's a matter of what you value. If you think it's worth the time and money then pick up those hours even if it's a long commute.

I'm also in my P3 year and am planning to work ~12 hrs/wk. I've given my phone number to all the stores in my area that I'm willing to drive to. I've pretty much become the backup tech for many stores and am often called when there's a no-show or if for some reason a tech can't make it to work. I'd suggest giving your contact info to pharmacies near you if you don't mind getting called in on short notice; I think it's a great way to get extra hours and also to network and get to know more pharmacists in your area.
