I worked on-campus in the Fall 2009 semester. I was supposed to work during the spring too, but my schedule was really tight packed, so I wouldn't have time to do it. My manager and I both agreed that I would take this semester off, and start working again in the Summer while I am taking summer classes.
My schedule opened up, but then my manager informed me she had already hired someone since I had originally told her I couldn't work. I decided to volunteer at the hospital near my school, and I have everything ready: I'm just waiting for the medical clearance from the hospital.
My manager just called and said there was an opening at my job, and that I could come back to work if I liked. Now I'm stuck. Which should I pick? Obviously, volunteering has more benefits than working, but would it look bad for ADCOM's to say that I had an on/off job? I didn't get fired from my job by any means, but I don't want my EC's to seem messy or "all over the place".
