I have a question of the following nature:
let's say you go to medical school in usa and then complete a residency in usa. I know that for example some orthopedic surgeons in usa have done fellowships oversease (including uk,germany, switzerland, etc). So could someone tell me how this works? For example if you complete ortho training in usa you can apply for 1yr fellowships almost anywhere, right? How about if you do a residency in usa in a nonsurgical or some general specialty like endocrinology? can you then do some kind of fellowship where you get to spend a year somewhere overseas and get paid and learn from some big shot? what specialties besides orthopedics allow such arrangements?
