Ok, hear me out. I know I messed up, but at this point I'm not sure what else to do (and this might not even be an issue for me so yeah).

I'm currently missing a prereq for the only med school that has given me an interview. I would have signed up for said prereq earlier if I had gotten an interview last year, but by January I had already accepted that I would need to reapply and was not expecting to get an interview at all. I still haven't even interviewed yet, so I still might get rejected and just look really stupid for posting this.

Anyways, the school requires transcripts to be sent in by 6/30. Now, I have found a summer course of this prereq that ends 6/24, a week before the deadline. However, grades have to be finalized by 6/29 and I'm afraid that my prof will finalize it on the last day and I won't have enough time to send in my official transcript for just this one class and I will get rescinded. What do I do? Do I beg the professor to enter my grades earlier than other people? Do I beg the medical school to give me a 1-2 day extension or let me send in my unofficial transcript first?

Again, all this hinges on me actually getting accepted... hopefully that happens, or else I look really dumb.

Just explain the situation and how urgent it is and usually they will post it lol. Also, be transparent with your med school and it should be fine. You’re not the first person to have this problem

OP: you're using "accepted" too much when you don't have an offer. 🙂

While you are putting the cart before the horse, it is also likely that you will get waitlisted or rejected because you don't have the prerequisite.

Was there a problem registering for the course this term? I've made many calls telling waitlisted people they could have been in a better position had they registered to take their missing prereq. Online courses like UNE are a savior for things like this.

If you do get accepted, explain your situation. Just don't fail that summer class while planning your move to medical school.

Definitely counting my chickens before they hatch, I was beating myself up in my head for thinking about this before any news but couldn't stop worrying about it for some reason so I thought I'd ask here. Honestly I'm probably going to get rejected and I get that, especially since it's so late in the cycle. Trying to think positive but if I'm being realistic, I'll have to reapply 🙁

However, I'm not worried about being rejected bc of missing the prereq, they had emailed me about it before and after I shared my plan of action (originally to take it at my school or a cc), they were ok with it and just said prereqs need to be met by June 30. The prereq isn't a difficult class so I'm not worried about failing (chem 101, specifically the lab). Furthermore, it was only this one school I applied to that required 2 semesters of chem lab and didn't accept AP credit. I would have signed up for the class immediately if I had gotten an II from this school earlier but by the time I had received one, it was too late to sign up anywhere. Stupid on my part, I know.

I have read that it can be something that justifies a WL if all the pre-reqs aren’t met

Affirming... they expect you to complete your plan regardless of whether you get interviewed. But the fact the admissions team reached out to you to see if you had a plan is better than getting ghosted then rejected. I would have interpreted it as a sign they were interested... like giving someone your phone number or IG handle. An UPDATE could have helped your chances at an II...

I believe they have already received an interview invite, Mr. Smile.

Yes I have! Here's what happened: last year, after I submitted secondaries, they emailed me asking about my plan of action for the missing prereq. I said that I would take it at my uni or a local community college, and they accepted that and moved forward with my app. Late January is when I received the II, and by then it was too late for me to sign up for my missing prereq, so I am planning on doing it in the summer before the deadline.
