I’m looking for some serious advice here. I’m 2 years out of residency and still only board eligible. I did not pass last year’s ABEM qualifying exam by one point. It was soul crushing.

I bought Rosh, which I used last year, but with plans to actually complete it this time. I’m currently 8% done with the 5,000 Qbank, and am sitting at a 68%.

Some of the questions and concepts in this Rosh bank just don’t seem like the kind of stuff they tested on the real deal, but still, it’s making me more nervous that I’m fundamentally lacking in core concepts.

Any advice here? My test is on November 5. I need to pass it this time..

Thank you.

This is where we're at in EM - graduates can't pass a simple MCQ exam.
Hey man, thank you for this contribution. Not sure if you care, nor do I want to divulge much personal information, but there were some pretty significant life changes that put me in a pretty rough spot. Circumstances I hope you and others never have to deal with.

Cheers.

Heard.

That said, you must know how to kick a test like this ones ass if your failure was just due to a perfect storm of life horror. So do PEER until you bleed, and maybe one of those rosy qbank things.

"I’m currently 8% done with the 5,000 Qbank"

Try doing 68%

Do Rosh, hippo em and peer. Do as many q banks as you can. Then when you answer them, read ALL the answers every time. Even if you got it right. They can rephrase a question to make one of the other answers correct. I didn’t open a single text book to study for boards, I just did thousands of questions.

8% of a qbank when you failed is unacceptable.

I know the test is far and all…. But the way you pass is by doing rosh twice bare minimum, and ideally a 3rd time going over all of your wrong questions.

Then in addition to that, if i were you id knock out peer review qbank atleast 2 times as well.

This is just pure hard work that needs to be done. 8% done with a qbank and only 2.5 months left to your exam means you aren’t scared enough and haven’t worked hard enough yet.

For reference, 8% so some 400 questions is probably what i can do in 2 days if i genuinely sat down and studied.
