I heard some pretty bad stories about clinical rotations in areas like queens hospitals, brooklyn or bronx.

I heard that the residents don't have the time to teach their med students and they keep sending the students on trivial tasks that the residents don't have time to do , so the students spend less time learning medicine. I heard this from someone who completed her residency in those areas.

I am worried about this because i want to go to nycom - its fairly close to where I live, but I don't know how prepared I will be when I enter residency after graduation...hence, I am worried.

not really, i got an interview tomorrow, but I feel confident enough that i will get in.

I am more interested in seeing any positive input from people who are doing their rotations in these areas.

I heard that nycom is pretty impressive as an institution (the college is supposedly impressive) but no one talks about its clinical rotation sites.

That could describe any subI, MD or DO. You can get a resident who doesn't want to teach anywhere. Generally the busier the hospital, the more they let you do, unless you seem incompetent, in which case they keep you out of the way with scut.

Check out the clinical rotations forum and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I honestly envy your optimism. I have an interview on December 11th at NYCOM, have went through a Touro-NY interview and am interviewing at NSUCOM this Friday and I don't think I could ever be that confident about getting in--feels like it's a coin toss to me. I guess that's why I suffer so much anxiety from this whole process.

Maybe I feel like this because i have an acceptance to another school already. Don't worry man, just relax , I found that having a calm exterior is the best way to do well in these interviews. good luck!
