Would Barry University be affected by hurricanes?

Hey guys, so I'm thinking of applying to Barry's 1 year SMP, but I see that it's pretty close to the coast. If there was a hurricane, would students there be affected?

Class would carry on as normal in the case of high speed winds, rain and power loss.

Hurricanes are on water. Miami is on the coast. You could be affected, hurricanes happen there all the time hahaha

We've had to deal with only two hurricanes since I started three years ago. Only the first day of class were cancelled. But do expect months where it rains every day for at least 10 minutes a day. I have these pretty cute rainboots 🙂

I attended Barry (2012-2013) and the weather can get rough at times but if my memory serves me right we only missed one day of school due to weather... So if it's something you are really worrying about from my experience you should be fine... BTW it's a great program, GL

So far NYU and LECOM... Pending at UF, NOVA, and UNLV... I had other interview invites but financially I was unable to attend them.

How was the course load? Would you say getting a 4.0 is doable?

Course load is definitely doable. More difficult than undergrad, but easier than Dental school (same difficulty class for class, but for example only 16 credits as opposed to 30+ in dental school). But dont worry you adapt, once you get the feel for it it becomes easier.

Hm where did you live? I'm thinking of a single studio apartment for my first year

I stayed at "Regent park" within a mile of Barry's Hollywood campus where the BMS program is. I had a one bedroom, it was the best that I found at the time, I highly recommend the place.

so you can get insider info from individuals who are currently going there. It is also a good source to browse and see what they have been talking about. I used to be one of the chairs for the Biomedical sciences society there so I know quite a bit about the program (at least from my time there, things are always changing) but GL I wish you the best.
