Would like a quick decision for either informal postbac or directly take the Masters

I have roughly a 3.0 cGPA and a 2.7 sGPA. I intend to apply to dental school in a few years or so. My question is:

Should I take a couple of upper level science courses to boost the sGPA, infinitesimally I may add, then go on to a master's afterwards, or should I directly go into a Masters program?

I just don't want to spend the extra money when a Masters will suffice.
