Would new schools be more lenient on LOR's? I've tried to get a science letter and I can't until at least The end of fall semester. I have 2 non-science, 1 DO, and one from my boss. If my stats were much higher than other applicants, would they let a substitution for non-science letter slide? I've emailed a few schools and they said they were strict on their letter policy. I know a requirement is a requirement, but what would a science LOR tell an ADCOM that they couldn't already see from my transcript? Yes I'm salty haha

I have no idea, but I tried getting into the RVUCOM (newer for profit school) SMP program and they were really strict about all the requirements. I ended up getting shafted because they require a semester of biochem, even though I did both orgos, molecular biology, etc.

All you can do is contact the schools and ask which is what you've already done. Don't submit to a school that says they won't consider you without it because then you're just setting your money on fire and becoming a reapply ant for next cycle.

I agree that it does suck. Why can't you get a science letter?

No. Why do you think that they don't have standards?
