Hey Everyone,

I know the sooner you submit your application the better, but is there a point where you really should just wait until next cycle to apply to not risk becoming a re-applicant? Assuming a maximum of 3 weeks for complete turnover of secondaries, what is the likelihood that you'll even be able to score an interview for the remaining months?

Consensus seems to be no with the stipulation of earlier the better. Once you get to December and beyond, it gets to be a little late in the cycle but the DO cycle tends to be longer than MD. Also, your best bet is to turn in those secondaries ASAP, maybe pre-write? Good luck!

Depends on your stats. Last year I sent primaries in late September early October and didn't get one II. I sent them immediately this year and I already have 2 IIs and no rejections. If you're grades are better than 3.5/30 with good ECs then you should be fine, but if you have red flags or a low GPA or MCAT score then your chances are going to decrease.

It also depends on where you apply. Some schools don't start interviews until October (Touro), some schools have already accepted people (LECOM). Also depends on the demand of that school; CCOM will fill it's class easier than ACOM.

I know it's a pain in the ass but I would recommend reading a few "Where to Apply" threads from this year to pick schools that fit your stats, then read the previous years application threads.

Good luck!

That's great info everyone thanks. I'll take a look at some of the schools and see if I'd be ready to apply after I receive my MCAT scores following the test in 2 weeks. Thanks I really appreciate it!

Finish your primary and submit to a school you don't really mind if you get washed from just so you can get verified. After your scores come in add all your other schools. It'll be 4+ weeks to get verified.

Aww damn!! Well I haven't submitted my app yet but I sent out my transcripts and MCAT score at the beginning of Aug soo will that help?

Basically, if you haven't paid, they haven't started.

It really depends on when you submit and if they have to kick it back to you to correct something. That said, I believe the average is still 4-5wks.

My app wasn't kicked back, and it took 5+ weeks to verify. I submitted on July 11th, btw.

If you look at the 2014-2015 verification thread, 5-6 weeks is the norm for apps submitted in early July, which I hope is still early bird.
