When taking practice PAT test on CDP I have been using my pen to extend the line the angle. I place the pen parallel to one of the lines of the angle. This has helped me a lot telling apart the larger angles. Or sometimes I cover up part of the angle so I can focus on the tip. I do this from a distance, not even close to touching the screen, and sort of squint. Does anyone know whether this would be considered cheating if I do it on the real DAT? When I began doing this it did not even occur to me that it could be considered cheating, but reading the cheating threat that came up recently (especially the part that said touching the screen is considred cheating-- I would have never guessed!) got me worried. I have no intention of cheating on the DAT and I will ask my proctor before the test to make sure, but if it is not allowed I'd rather know now so I can start developing some new strategies. If anyone knows anything about this, please reply!

It really depends on the center, where you take the test. Some centers don't care, but others will warn you to stop using your pen, hands, or your dry erase board to extend the lines. Do yourself a favor and ask them before you start the exam. You don't want any hassle halfway through the exam. It's simply not worth it.

I used my dry erase board. Sometimes i used my thumbs. But i never touched the screen with either. I just held it real close and shut one eye to see it.

i used my marker pen to extend one side of the angle. the test proctor guy didn't seem to care much about it lol

Thanks for you feedback guys. I took my test today. I asked my proctor and she did not care either. So at the very least we can conclude that the ADA has no official policy about this.
