Just wondering
Hobbies or ECs as in music, artistic talent, etc

I don't know. I am starting to gather bits and pieces for my applications and I've heard from various doctors that some admission committees would give extra points for those who have extra talents (at my hospital at least) and I do want to use my music/art talents as examples to show my dexterity in my personal statement.
What do you think

Definitely. I think it brings up talking points during the interview if nothing else. I actually heard of a guy who put "Talking about lost" in the interests portion of his CV and some interviewers really thought it was funny.

Yes. On your CV you can put a little "hobbies" at the end of it.

And your ERAS application will have a section for activities like this.

I would say however that it is much more of a "oh that's nice" thing to talk about on the interview trail. I would be surprised if it made much of an impact on your overall application strength.

And as a final caveat - there was a rumor going around the surgery interview trail this year that an applicant put their musical talents on their application...and at one interview got handed a violin. Don't put it on there if you can't back it up.

Ya, a lot of those "bonus points" are mostly hearsays so I don't see any harm in putting some of the extra hobbies and ECs in I guess.

ha. I did that with one of the med school interviewees once. He was talking about how he DJs at a local bar or something and I asked him what equipments he uses. He replies like, "oh, the typical SL1200, and he uses Virtual DJ, blah blah" Idiot did NOT realize I DJed in NYC before and I still had a copy of the software in my laptop.... Not being an ******* but was simply eager to show him the new sounds I created, I asked him to try it out. His face turned and did not know how to even sync properly. It was jokes....
