I was just curious whether I should take one over the other in order to be better prepared for dental school....I am currently signed up for Biochem next semester but I am contemplating taking Microbio instead.

Any help here would be great. Thanks guys.

Microbiology is something you would easily forget about the materials taught right after the course, whereas Biochem requires good knowledge of OChem especially the mechanism stuffs to do well in the class. If you have been excelling in both Ochem and Biochem, chances are that you are going to easily recall them when they resurface at the dental school.

Biochem definitely.

This is excellent advice. Coming from someone who has a BS in Micro-- Take biochem. The concepts are harder to grasp -- making it easier to learn second time around.

Biochem. It was actually my favorite bio subject bc of the appreciation for minute details in everything that I learned from it. It's a tough class, but I appreciated the work and understanding I got out of it.

Exactly...Microbio is a lot of memorization and I forgot everything after the final. Biochem is more about biological logic which is a really great foundation for understanding physiology, and the conceptual type of learning which is hard to forget.

I would say biochem since it would be good to have that before DS biochem. But is depends on how much/what you will cover in one semester.
