wouldn't this be terrible if it happened at a medical school...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Lol, thats awesome.

It most certainly is not! 😡

Haha, the moment I read the headline I knew what it was.

Yesterday I got an email from UCSD inviting me to some open house saying "Congratulations on your admission to UCSD!!!!!"

So I'm like wtf, I already got rejected. So I got all excited and went to check my application page. Damn 🙁

2 hours later I got an email that was like "sorry for causing you distress" Lmao.

Not that I was too bummed, I don't think I would have gone anyways, just would have been awesome to know I had gotten in lol.

Wow, to someone who seriously wanted to get in, got rejected, got accepted, and got rejected again, that really qualifies as a "fml" moment

Ahhh man, now i feel bad. I didn't think anyone here was one of those people:laugh:. Well, it would have been funny if you didn't know I thought it was funny, now its just sad.

An administrative error was to blame for an e-mail sent out by AMCAS—The American Medical College Application Service telling about 1,000,000 previously denied applicants that they were accepted to Harvard University, School of Medicine, The New York Times reported.

Medical admission is highly competitive and about 1,000,000 applications have been denied.

But on Monday, someone accidentally sent out a second e-mail — this one an acceptance letter — to all 1,000,000 denied applicants, Admissions Director Tom Brown told the Times.

"I take full responsibility for the error," said Brown. "We recognized the incredible pain receiving this false encouragement caused. It was not our intent. The guys and bitches with low GPA and MCAT can't get in anyway. I don't care."

One parent interviewed by the Times called the erroneous acceptance his daughter received a "colossal screw-up."

northwestern business school did the same thing- a bunch of people were erroneously sent acceptance letters and then told it was a mistake...

I wouldn't know whether to +pissed+:boom::diebanana:+pissed+:boom::diebanana:+pissed+:diebanana::boom:or lock myself in my room indefinitely.

that would be some messed up april's fools joke

It was published on March 31st

Those who had never been invited to interviews must have known this notice was false anyway.

It was intended for just the roughly 18,000 that got in.
UCSD must be a HUGE med school!??
