Hey guys

I have recently been offered a position in a 1 year wound care fellowship (non surgical). It is non surgical but run surgery/derm primarily. I realize wound care is a big aspect of surgical practice.

My question is; is it possible to do wound care in a private practice type of set up? I know a lot of hospitals have their own wound centers. Do they usually employ their own wound care doctors? Or is it more like private practice specialty (like cardio, ortho, urology...etc) where you see your patients in the hospital setting and use their facilities (for which they bill facility usage) and then you bill privately for your time and services?

Both are options depending on location, etc. There are also wound care companies who might employ you but contract with hospital systems to provide services as well.
