Anyone get post-interview recruitment emails yet? I'm trying to see if the one I got today is generic.

Hey everyone,

Since application season is rapidly approaching, I thought I would get this started for all the Surg Crit Care and ACS applicants. I'm hoping this can be a page to compare notes on applications and programs, as well as keep a running list of which programs have sent out interview invites.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the appeal of ACS? Is it essentially a critical care doctor who is affluent in completing surgeries? I am interested in pursuing neurosurgery and/or trauma, is ACS an option for me?

ACS is a discipline that encompasses trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. Most folks that do ACS are general surgeons, however there are some vascular surgeons I have heard of that do ACS
If doing just surgical critical care, that is usually a 1 year fellowship
ACS Fellowships are typically 2 years, with the first year being surgical critical care, followed by a second year that has more operative volume

life happened and I am now applying to critical care fellowship for a year prior to CT fellowship. any advice for someone planning for a 1 year SCC year or starting the process this far into the season?

I know multiple co-residents of mine that applied late and had no problem, though some of it may involve contacting programs with open spots after the match, I think most programs have held their formal interviews at this point.

Had anyone done Cincinnati? I have a question

Hi
I have applied to SCC/ACS fellowships this year 2023. Can you guys add me to any WhatsApp group? I applied to 50 programs and received 40 Interviews.

My number 520-258-9179

Thanks a lot
