Apparently, a student at NYU told me that there is a 3 months program that you can take that really helps you out in term of working with teeth.ie.. building crowns, veneers..ect.

It's a dental lab technician assistant program or something like that and it cost about 5000. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm very much interested in it but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I've just started volunteering at a dental lab and the tech is very nice in letting me practice making molds from stone and doing wax up but I feel like Im taking too much of his time and he have projects to work on and all.

So please share if you know of any such program.

can you pay the tech to teach you.

First of all, you WILL LEARN at school. That's why there's no requirement about dentistry experience/lab work/etc. to get accepted. You're going to school to learn technique, so don't worry about being underprepared.

Also, $5000 is a heck of a lot of money.

If you feel that you're getting good experience with the lab techs, keep going to different ones, esp. if you feel that your present one wants to get back to work. Good idea!
