Wow...rejection by email?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nah...not them.

I thought it was pretty unprofessional as well, but like I said, I'm not surprised...considering the state it's in and represents...

But, I'll stay above naming names.

Just wait until you get to the point of applying for residency. You get rejections by email all the time. No one had the courtesy of sending a paper letter. It's the norm anymore. I got 2 email rejections last week.

cabin - I don't understand. Why would you get rejection letters for residency when its all done by match??
You apply to programs, they invite you for an interview or reject. They then rank the candidates they interviewed and you rank the residencies that you interviewed at.

Having previously applied. The winner is Duke.

They status page rejected me and didn't even let me know that my status page had updated... I randomly logged in to my rejection.

That sucks! Talk about being rude....

its not just MD schools...it seems to be pretty standard at many schools...after being complete at MSUCOM in October I got a 2 line email in JUNE saying that I did not meet the qualifications for their class. ....CCOM rejected me by email as well...but theirs was a little more polite

Case did this to me!

Pitt had the nice: "correspondance has been sent" that made you wait a week to find out for sure it was a rejection letter. Nice.

The only thing that really hacked me off was that since it was an email, I thought it was an interview invite....but soon learned different.

Oh well, moving on.

Interesting. Your gpa is better than mine; but my MCAT is better so it comes out in the wash.

You must not be personable.

Whats next? Maybe next cycle they will text people rejections.....
