Writing a multii-experiment manuscript?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of drafting a manuscript for a multistep project and am starting to think it would work best formatted as a multiexperiment paper. Does anyone know the guidelines for writing a manuscript of this type, especially with regards to 6th ed. headings. I don't recall seeing any specific guidance for this type of format in the publication manual, but it's possible I could simply not be recalling it correctly.
