"They" say that a great writing sample will not get you into med school but that a poor score can keep you out...so i am curious about what constitutes a score that is sufficient (won't hurt you but might not help either). I am not trying to score a T and really just want to make sure that my 3's and 4's that I have been getting are acceptable. Happy studying~JEV

I got an L and have 5 acceptances. Don't worry about it. I worried about, but really did not need to. I got a 32 on MCAT.

I think, if you follow the "cookbook" strategy presented in the Princeton Review book, you are guaranteed at least a 4 on each essay, which gets you at least a P. Basically, if you answer the 3 questions that go along with each statement, that gets you a 4 on each essay.

A P is plenty good enough.

Good Luck,

J

Kaplan says shoot for an O. They say do the three questions without speling or grammer or sintax misteaks, and you'll get at least an O.

Oh the irony!

(I'm just messing with you.)

Irony? I did it on purpose! I also misspelled speling, grammer, and sintax (spelling, grammar, syntax).

Guh!

the writing score really doesn't matter if you're applying to US med schools. (i hear that some canadian med schools have cutoffs in the writing scores. is this true?)
my friend had a 34 but was concerned about her O in the writing. she ended up getting into 4 great schools (nyu, u maryland, g-town, and columbia).

hey guys, what is O, P and K grades?
I have not taken the MCAT yet...
so, which one is the highest and which is the lowest?
How many grades does it have? 26 as in English alphabet?

The AAMC data note that the median score for applicants who got accepted into medical school was O or P in recent years.
