I have to decide if it is better to preserve my GPA or get a W. I can withdraw from a class and be able to finish my undergrad with a 4.0 and 1 W. Or take a C in Microbiology. The instructor is my advisor and it seems like the more I study the worse I do. Class average is a 62%. Micro was an elective and although most people would love to end with a 3.94, it is really hard to let this class spoil all of my work. Please give me a few words about Ws.

I am assuming that all your other pre req's are A's? Take the C. Also, possibly look up gunner in the dictionary. 🙄

No one cares about W's any more. However, your problem is a problem most people would love to have. Given what you state above, either decision you make you will be absolutely fine.

You make me want to use physical violence.

Seriously, W's won't hurt you when you have a 4.0. Don't sweat it. Do well on the MCAT and relax. You've obviously worked extremely hard.

On the flipside, does your advisor write your committee letter? Might want to push as hard as you can to get the B to impress him then... Best of luck!!

Take the W. Just pretend it means you did "Wonderful" in that class. I would be reluctant to blow a 4.0 for an elective.
