Hey doesn't this bring back some great memories? 😀
I know... I haven't been here in a while and I stumble upon this gem.

How are you???

I am OK, glad to see you.
Likely banned him in a prior Internet life.
Arch has been the most level headed moderator this forum has seen. Clearly, whatever the previous ban was for, it was justified.
Arch is not the issue here.
Arch is a fabulous moderator.
OK.
We've established that.
NOW,
PUH LEASE LISTEN
THIS FORUM SUCKS.
BORING, PREDICTABLE, BLAH BLAH BLAH
NO LEADERSHIP HERE MAN.
Saw the original post at 2 a.m. Jet. Why the edit? It was telling.
This forum has been popping these past 3 days.
Really enjoying it. 🙂
😉 He likes to post off the cuff, and very very often rethinks things 15 or 20 minutes later and softens what he wrote. At times it makes it difficult to engage him in conversation, because about the time you have a reply ready, history has been altered and the reply doesn't make any sense.
I think Jet vs Arch/me/cchoukal just have a very different view of what a moderator's role should be. He keeps mentioning a need for "leadership" or someone to run point on the forum. I personally don't see such a need.
Moderators are like referees at sporting events, and the old saying there is just as true here: players win games, coaches lose games, and referees ruin games.
All of the regular readers and posters here are the real players - they make this place what it is.
As moderators/referees, we try to stay out of the way and not be noticed at all. When we do it well, no one notices we're here.
Where I fundamentally disagree with Jet is that I don't think we need any coaches. Nor do I think the bulk of our posters and lurkers want to be coached.

Jet,
You're definitely keepin the mic warm against the norm.... Damn I miss RATM.
I'm just a student, soon to be resident (knocking wood), I think all we have here is needed. I enjoy the clinical cases, I like the idea of some "outside the box" ideas getting thrown around to initiate real discussion. I also admire Blades passion, and I think the Blade-blast has become iconic, HIS prose if you will.
I also think you and your style, your larger than life persona, your "this is how we do it in the jungle of PP, outside the halls of academia" message brings personality and perspective to this site/forum.
I like it all, stick around, provide that of which you feel is missing and be the example you feel this place needs.
Propagate your township rebellion, but through addition, not subtraction.
WAIT......Is this POSSIBLY......My old pal, CFDAVID??????
