Which are better Australian or Canadian med schools? And don't tell me to refer to the foreign MD threads. A buddy I work with has crappy grades and a low MCAT but wants to go to school. There is no way he will degrade himself and go to an osteopathy school. Which would you go to? The outback or a land full of hockey and everyone saying eh.

go to the caribeean. it's harder to get into a candadian med schoo as an american than it is to get into most med US allo schools. and DO isn't degrading, it's just another way. they do the same thing, but i don't want to turn this into a MD vs DO thread, so i will stop here/

i dont remember the specifics...but canadian schools are hardcore...

dont even think about that.

if he feels he isnt a competitive applicant...tell him to find another occupation.

Forget about Canadian schools if your friend's stats are not that great. The average entering GPA of UofT last year was around 3.8. The cutoff for UofWestern Ontario was 3.7 last year and has remained the same this year.

Very true...

It's extremely difficult to get into a Canadian school (even if you are Canadian) and near to impossible if you're a foreign applicant.

Realistically, a GPA of 3.6 and a MCAT of 30 is the unwritten minimum. Obviously some people do get in with less, but not many.

You got some major issues !! Osteopathic schools are just as great as med schools and their education is the same....you are one shallow, ignorant, stupid guy !! I suggest both you and your friend stay away from med school and spare the poor patients and medical community from the presence of two a$$es as doctors !! 😡
