all they said was that if a final decision has been made, the status will be updated this week as well..😛 i guess we just have more waiting 😳
 
yeah still decision pending for me as well....
 
God, I hate this. A few more weeks and it'll all be over...😳
 
I just checked my status (10:10 am cdt), and it has changed to the "final decision made..., allow two weeks for correspondence to arrive in the mail..."

I got the same update!!! Let's hope they're still just sending out acceptances (it is May...). Anyway, right now I'm so excited!😀

So I called UIC this morning (09.55 hrs) and apparently letters were being printed out as we spoke! The guy told me that I should get something in the mail early-to-mid next week. He just wouldn't tell me what decsion they had made on my file, one way or another!!!!!! Just said that if the decision was to accept, then I would receive an e-mail confirmation from their office! This is insane; why not just tell us one way or the other?!

My status says: Decision Pending

Did it seem like they had made a decision on all of the remaining files (meaning our status updates are no longer a virtual "guaranteed" acceptance, if there is such a thing)?

Wait yours still decision pending and you're getting a letter?
 
Has anyone ever been rejected before the May 15th deadline? If they made a final decision at this meeting does that mean we’re in?

I called again and here's what I got: "A decision could have been made on your file last Thrusday (the committee met then) and the website could still show Decision Pending." In fact, he sounded sure that they did make a decision on my file last Thursday but the part of the office that makes the online changes still hasn't received communication of those decisions. So how exactly he knows that a decision has been made on my file when his office has not yet been informed of those decisions.....I am just as puzzled as anyone else!!?!

This info didn't help me. They probably didn't make a decision on my file. Who knows!

Next step, is to record the conversations and run a voice polygraph. Maybe even stalk the committee during their lunch break....anyways, sometimes I think even they don't know when they're meeting or making decisions. 😡

Hahaha! Sorry guys, it's just nice to know I'm not the only one freakin' out about all this! Look at us. We are model applicants: all this pressure and anxiety and still here we are, shooting smilies and emoticons across! Such composure under pressure! Hmmm...

Maybe a little premature but does anyone know when in May they are meeting. I'd assume after the 15th to evaluate how many spots they have open (hopefully a bunch lol).. but do we have to wait until almost june to find out if we are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected? 🙁

Oh...I don't know if I can take this "which third of the waitlist am I?" deal, cbenedic. Since applying to med school, I've become poorer, my cholesterol levels are higher, I am hypercorstisolic, my adrenals may have become enlarged as a result, I'm more sleep deprived than ever, and I've lost all my taste buds to Ramen noodles!!!! At least I can blame it all on something!

I'm a little more optimistic about UIC though. I thought the interview went as good as it could have. It's just that I haven't seen that "decision pending" status change to anything else! Maybe that's a good thing too. But as May 15th approaches, I'd like to know for sure, so I can drop other schools for UIC.

If I make a choice before May15th and I haven't heard from UIC before then, will it affect my chances at UIC? I hope not. Good luck to everyone waiting. :luck: :luck: :luck:
 
so i called the office today to find out about my app..she said that no decision has been made on my file yet. She also said that they are being extra careful with the numbers they are accepting since they over accepted last year so the process is going even slower. They also told me that my file is still very much active and under consideration and the next meeting will be toward the end of this month. so i guess its a good sign that we haven't been rejected yet..😉

i'm going to italy/greece on june 1 so i hope we find out by then! 😛

Wow. When I had called yesterday, they wouldn't tell me anything. The lady just kept asking me to call back on Thrusday...on Thursday...on Thursday...! Well, they are going to get a call from me tomorrow. And there will be a post here soon after.

No decisions on my file yet. They can't give me any info as to when the committee might meet on my file, or what the status is regarding number of acceptances, etc.

So basically, I know as much now as I did before the call.

😴 until next Thursday....
 
I got a status change on May 3rd but I haven't gotten anything in the mail. When I called yesterday they said "Oh oops, a decision hasn't been made on your file." So I asked them why it said one had been made on my status page....they seemed confused and told me to call back after 1:00PM. I called back and a different person told me that they accidentally forgot to mail out my decision and that they would mail it out ASAP. I'm concerned...uic wtf!:scared:

Yep -- I called today and was also told that no decision was made on my file. The person I talked to said that I would likely hear after May 15th. I suppose the committee will meet towards the end of this month again.

Per status page, I have been offered a UIC-Chicago campus interview for 6/11. That was the only date and campus offered. There are 16 open slots.

Remember the end of March when a number of us got that message from the dean saying our files had not yet been reviewed, but since we submitted before the deadline they were committed to reading them? (I was complete Nov 15.) Anyone else with a beyond-belief-late interview offer?
 
16 interview slots or 16 slots in the class? Did they give you any info about the class being filled up, etc? Good Luck! :laugh:

Congrats, Mobius1985!

I have yet to hear from UIC and I interviewed back in December. I received an email stating that they reserve the right to withold all final decisions until June 1st. To me, this meant that UIC was going to make all final decisions on all applicants by June 1st. I was just a bit confused as to how they can still be interviewing after June 1st if they want to give out final decisions by June 1st.

I hope this post wasn't confusing...I'm just really anxious to hear back from UIC.
