I submitted my secondary ON the deadline date. I interviewed on 4/27. The dean said we should hear back one way or another by the end of May. My status page still says "Decision Pending." However, the interview date says 4/27/2007 and the "Interview Letter Date" says 5/21/2007. What does that mean? I am planning to politely call tomorrow and find out what's going on.

I just always thought that the interview letter date was the day they sent out the letter to you saying that you have an interview. Even tho i never got that letter and luckily checked my status one day.
 
I also submitted the secondary on Feb. 1. I interviewed about two weeks ago. My status page also says interview letter sent 5/21 even though this was after my interview date. I'm still decision pending, too. I was told at my interview that we would know by the end of May; however, I called last week and was told that I would likely hear sometime in June.
 
Called in today for a status update regarding the change in my status page. He said a decision was made on my app YESTERDAY even though the status changed Tuesday and the adcom met a week ago....and then said that he isn't shown what the decision was in his info.

Truly. w-t-f uic?
 
Just as an FYI, I got a rejection letter from UIC today.

I called just now to check my status, and was told that they should be sending out waitlists and rejections by the end of next week.. apparently no more acceptances. boo! 🙁

My status changed to "final decision..." on 06/01. I'm on the waitlist so half of me thinks they are starting to pull off the waitlist and the other half thinks they are cutting me loose early! Fifteen hours until the mail could possibly arrive again.....good luck everyone!
 
i just calld uic for a status update as im stilllllllllll decision pending
they said i have to wait and call bak on thurs...
well now i'm just hoping waitlist
 
I'm still decision pending... Hopefully, I will get a chance to call tomorrow. All this waiting is stressfull!! Well, hopefully some good comes out of it. I will post tomorrow, if I hear something.....

I called for a status update today as i interviewed 3/22 and haven't heard a peep since. no email, letter, online updates, nothing.
I spoke w/ some lady who actually pseudo-knows what she's talking about (better than the reg fold admission staff who don't know much) and she told me that as of now no action has been taken on my file. No acceptance, rejection, or wait-list. She 'hopes' to have something to tell me in 2-3 weeks. The committee will be meeting again, and then they will (hopfully?) make some type of decision.
 
havent been on the thread for awhile but im still waiting too..
august mcat, interviewed early jan, still no word, no waitlist, no rejection, nothing..i preety much dont think about it anymore...really W.T.F UIC!

Same exact story when i called.... gotta keep waiting....
 
I'm in total shock..... I thought it was a rejection letter, but I just received an interview invite!!!!! 😀

Wow! Congrats, have you called and actually scheduled it with them. I thought I saw something on here a few weeks ago about late interviews but the last day being 6/11. I guess there are miracles with a June interview, must mean something good for you.

Good Luck!! Which day did you scheduale your interview for?? I'm surprised that UIC is still interviewing mid to late June!! take care....
 
Thank you both! Apparently there are miracles!!!😀 My interview is now scheduled for 6/28.
 
Has anyone heard any news lately? my computer is acting funny so i cant get on the internet all the time....

I just checked my status and got the change to "A final decision etc etc".
I just stumbled upon it bc I was actually looking through the UIC website and was planning to write a letter of intent.
At this point, however, it can quite possibly be bad news. But hey, its better than no news!

Edit: upon looking at all the other posts carefully; its bad news... boo

Funny, I thought I did best on that interview! I don't think I'll ever completely understand how this process works!

Same thing for me too.. lets hope for the best, but at this point i also think its probably bad news.... i wonder if we might get something in the mail tomorrow? Also Does anyone know if uic emails any sort of acceptance conformation, because i haven't received any emails yet?? thanks and good luck everyone!!
 
Hey guys...just checking in because I still haven't received my letter and didn't want anyone to lose heart, counting me as a rejection who just didn't want to post about it (my "final decision" was 06/01), though that would be understandable. I called last Mon. and they were supposed to send another letter out, but I haven't received that yet either! I seriously kicked around the idea of driving down there to just pick it up...even if it is a rejection, at least I could click submit on my reapp now...but that's probably stalking or something 😉 I asked if they would fax it and they won't. Anyway, best of luck to all, and kudos to whomever aptly titled this thread!
 
Nothing in the mail today from UIC guys... gotta wait until tomorrow...

I was in the group that interviewed on 6/11. The advice that happysnake gave in an earlier post (#501) was helpful. We had a tour, a talk by the Assistant Dean, and lunch, besides the three interviews. There was no stress (for me, at least) and I had a good time. They told us then that there would be one more group interviewing on 6/28. No information was given about available spots, if any. I assume they will become available as others withdraw. A number of people in my group mentioned familiarity with SDN (instant bond!).

My status page now says "Decision Pending". Have fun at the interview, rcMDbaby. And good luck to the rest of you awaiting the mailman.

no email to my knowledge. just a packet=acceptance and letter=sorry.
in hope of making bad news a little better, it could at least be a waitlist?
although the committee was not supposed to meet until the end of this month, and which time they will form the list. who knows.
we'll wait for the mail tomorrow. at least we don't have to wait until July :laugh:
 
check this out... i was given an interview from uic on 5-21 for 6-28 but i didnt get an email or snail mail aobut it and i just checked my status and it says that i can schedule for an interview but there are no slots open so what should i do? i plan on calling tomorrow to see if i can get an interview or not but any other ideas. i called and left a message and tried email but cant get it to go.

No mail today. (in regards to the recent status changes)
 
No UIC mail for me either....called again and they are supposed to send yet another letter. Does anyone know how long it takes after a rejection before the UIC system prevents you from logging in? It seems like I shouldn't be able to log in still if it is/was a rejection.
 
I interviewed on 6/11 (for the waitlist) and just received a letter saying that I was placed in the first quartile.... does anyone know how many people get in off the waitlist?
 
Nothing in the mail for me either.. i wonder when they mailed out the letters?

Congratulations.

In last year's postings it was concluded there were 40-50 people per quartile, but no good report of how many got off the waitlist that I found. Here is a link to the thread on last year's waitlist movement: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=285651&highlight=quartile
 
I just got the waitlist letter! I'm in the 1st quartile. 😀

Did they tell you it was for the waitlist at your interview?
 
No, they didn't say it was for the waitlist.
 
Today I also got the letter that I'm "selected as an alternate", and have been "placed in the first quartile". I wish we knew how many alternates were admitted last year.
 
They were over by 30 last year but there were a couple people from the alternate list that got accepted because of some imbalance and need to fill the other campuses
 
I got a rejection letter today. Status changed over the weekend.
 
I also got a rejection letter today... good luck to everyone else.
