Beth said a few dropped over last weekend, but the dean was out so they might not be meeting on it until sometime this week.

Just wanted to let those of you waiting on the waitlist know that I withdrew from WVU today. So one more spot should open up. Good luck to all of you, hopefully they will start calling some of you soon.

nada. Anyone else? I contacted Beth last week and she said there was some movement and that she was going to try to get an update to everyone as of Tuesday or yesterday. However, nothing for me. Anyone else?

This thread does not seam to be very active. Does that mean that not too many people were waitlisted? hmm... 😕
I'm still waiting and there is no even an on-line application status check. I am an OOS applicant, so simply statistically my chances of being accepted are around 20%. Well, hoping for the best... keep waiting... :scared: 😴 :scared: 😴.....

173 wait listed, she said the average is 30-60 people move. Good luck to you and I (I'm OOS as well).
 
I found out Friday that I was accepted off of the waitlist. I'm an instater, interviewed in Dec., waitlisted in Feb. She sent an email that said that the first packets were being sent out a little late due to some misinformation or something. She also said she'd be on vacation for the rest of this week. I was told originally the waitlist was at 215 and it got down to 115 when I last emailed her. Good luck everyone that's still waiting!! :luck:
 
I just withdrew my acceptance, I really liked WVU and so this hurts. Hopefully one of you gets in. All the best..

I wish I knew where on the waitlist I stand (even though they said the list is not ranked and AdCom meets every other week, I do not think they go over the entire waitlist when one person withdraws). 😎

Thanks for those who withdraw when they are not going to attend! 👍 I just don't get it when people try to hold multiple acceptances "just in case." 👎
 
A question for those recently accepted from the waitlist:
do they call you initially or you only get an e-mail saying that snail mail is coming?
At some point in the cycle do they start calling cellphones when someone withdraws? When?
 
I found out by snail mail, no email or anything before that. From what I have read in past WVU threads, I think that once it gets later they'll start calling. I'm not sure when though.

Also, before I got accepted I emailed Beth Ann to get some more info about the waitlist. I asked her if they re-reviewed every candidate at each adcom meeting since their waitlist isn't ranked, and she said that they do re-review everyone. That seems pretty time consuming to me, but who knows. Just thought you guys would like to know.

Beth told me that some letters will be sent this week.
This waitlist seems to be slow... Please, share if you have any updates. It's pretty difficult to sit and wait when it's already mid-June out there... 😕

Nothing for me. Hopefully soon. As of now, I'm not planning on anything. I'll just keep preparing to go to OUCOM. Are you planning on going to NY tech?

I am still waiting for this waitlist... If no other options become available I will go to NYCOM. I will not pay there until I get all rejects though...

I got a call from Beth Ann around 4:30 today telling me that I got in!
Three waitlists and this is my first acceptance

Did she call you from a school number? Or was it private?
I thought they were communicating mostly via snail mail...
 
School number I think it was a 304 area code
 
My buddy got a call from Beth today. She asked him if he'd already got an acceptance. As soon as he said no, she asked if he'd like go to WVSOM. You know the rest of the story.

His stats is about the same as yours, Academician and Concubine. Good luck.

Hey,
Do any current students have any insight into the difficulty of obtaining residency status for an OOS student at WVU? From what I've gathered so far, it seems pretty difficult, even for someone like me that really have no plans for the future (I could very well stay in West Virginia for the rest of my life). Anyone with experience in this would be very helpful.

Concubine, I've just noticed that you changed your status to "medical student." 🙂 Nice!

From what I heard, in WV you pay as an OOS for four years. OOS once - OOS forever. Unless you buy a business there, or maybe marry a local girl...
