Based on what the mod post said, I was under the impression that wolves and villagers with powers got their roles first due to mechanics (is a guess? Makes sense to me). So everyone else got the roles today.

This is likely a bad assumption, and even if it does prove to be the case here, it's the type of thing that it is common courtesy to the mods not to use as a data point.

When I woke up and flipped through my phone this morning (half awake) I'm pretty sure I saw a post from Pip which implied she had already received her role the night before. At this point I still hadn't even gotten my role PM so I thought it was weird and figured wolf pack would have been one of the first PMs sent out. I thought about it a few times during the day today, and was looking forward to getting on and quoting it since I was happy to have a decent reasoning behind D1 lynch for once. If she deleted that post, that is sketchy as all hell.

Because even if you were right...

1. it is still in poor taste to use this kind of thing imo, and definitely does not make me want to let you into the next game I run. Using this kind of thing is a pain in the ass for mods because they should not have to worry about this on top of things like game design and getting roles out to people. Perhaps it has been too long since you have helped mod a game.

2. You would basically be saying that you think I have an equal chance of being a village power role -- one who would be mod confirmed village. ...You feel overwhelmingly compelled to try to lynch people with a higher % chance of being a confirmed village power role? That's not wolfy at all. 🙄

You are either a wolf, or you are playing so anti-village that I will do my best to make sure you die before I do.

Welcome to the Basic B****es game thread! There will be plenty of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, NorthFace jackets, and murder for everyone!

This is a basics/open format game, so there will be minimal mechanics which will be known to all from the start.

Rules are as follows:

1. Post edits are ok, but do not edit lynch votes.
2. There are no PMs this game unless otherwise specified.
3. If you're not in the game (aka if you're dead or spectating), please refrain from posting in thread other than a dying post or two.
4. Do not share night results in the thread or in PM before the night write-up is posted.
5. You may not share anything from mod PMs other than role name. Feel free to copy/paste or quote other PMs, but no screenshots.
6. Lynch will close at 9:00pm Correct Standard Time and Night will close at 9AM. Contingency actions are appreciated and Night may close early at mod discretion.
7. If it comes down to mylo, you may choose to refrain from voting, but if a single vote is placed for a player it will count.
8. Breaking any of the above rules may result in immediate mod-killing depending on salt levels of mods.


Game format is as follows:

There are 3 wolves total with one alpha. There are no other wolf PRs.
Wolves will have 1 extra NK.

Village will have 3 power roles:
1 Protector
1 Blocker
1 Gossip
Protector and Blocker are as usual.
Gossip will be allowed to open a PM with 1 person each night which will remain open until lynch close the following day.

Everyone else is vanilla.
There are no 3rd parties, conversions, or resurrections.
There are no items.
Individuals performing actions will not be informed if their action was successful.
Individuals having actions performed on them will be informed that someone interacted with them, but not who performed the action.
Outcomes of ties will result in 1 of the vote leaders being lynched which will be determined by RNG.

Some tips:
1. There is no village code/roles are NOT indicative of affiliation.
2. Write-ups will not contain any clues for solving the game. Any extraneous writing or comments will be mod flare and should not be used to attempt to game-solve.
3. There is no minimum post requirement, but I encourage a decent amount of activity lest you want salt in your lattes.

N1 Write-up

After successfully kicking the basic octogenarian out of their group, the ladies all decided they needed to get something delicious for dinner. They all planned to meet up at the most basic restaurant around, The Cheesecake Factory, where they would inevitably order salads and take more pictures of their cheesecakes than bites. Of course, the food wasn't the only thing they were indulging in and gossip flew around the table. Unfortunately, the quality of gossip just didn't seem to meet the group's usual standards. That's when they realized that someone was missing. Someone with hair full of secrets and really, really expensive hoop earrings that she couldn't wear. Apparently trying to make fetch happen with wolves is a bad idea...

I started why in my lynch vote. At the time you were both question marks but the whole thing with you and BBC was too much to sort out in the little time left to lynch and felt that situation could be analyzed later and maybe actually figure out what was happening between you two.

Which Mixy did mention it would probably happen based on her luck. Also acknowledged that it could’ve been viewed as a dumb, wolfy thing to say.
Edit: remember wolves don’t have PRs this game. So I’m willing to take the bet that this was dumb luck especially considering the night hasn’t happened yet so no PM was occurring (if I remember that PR condition correctly)
For now I’m not gonna jump back on that wagon, going to look at a few others who were seemingly sketch and hardcore arguing/throwing shade at our now dead villagers.

Same logic of what I do with miz. When I think they are a wolf/Wolfy, I don’t vote for them off the bat, I just have them in my low wolf reads, don’t vouch for them, and watch their interactions to find more wolves in the process. I will still point out sketchy stuff they do in case I die.

My gut reactions for now (subject to change on re-reading).
Fern: either a really dumb villager or a wolf trying to kill off a power role. I mean, why would you take a chance of getting a power role lynched. That makes zero sense. When I have an inkling like that, I keep it to myself and pay careful attention to the play. Just SMH right now if village, definitely leaning wolf.

Nav: playing like an alpha wolf. Right off the bat was throwing a lot of non relevant issues out that just added confusion to a day one, then accuses a player maybe outed as a power role of breadcrumbing or whatvever, when pretty much everyone else (I think) read the mod rules the same way. Either NAV is getting a DocE complex or just stirring the pot as an alpha to cause deflection, again wolf leaning,

Valid=looks like wolfhunting to me... moose was the one who suggested I quote post #49, so I won't know her thoughts on it until she returns, but for me, it looks meh... I feel like the posts I was thinking of could go either way... not a huge fan of #46 either. Idk, I know it can go either way with these things. To some it looks like solid wolfhunting and to others it seems more wolfy. To me it seemed wolfy. D1 feels, but I am putting her more at neutral as time goes on. Will have to mind-meld with Miranda when she gets back to get her take.

It's a very short read so I recommend you read the first two days of the speed game last night to see me "all over the place" trying to figure things out. I get lynched village pretty quick

I think I am willing to believe Mixy right now, because looking at the mechanics, there is no way she could know about Pips being the gossip. More interested in Ferny rn. I will go dig up some of the posts I found to be fishy in a second.

Nav is being very aggressive and getting fixated on weird minutiae that to me seems unimportant. He can either power wolf or deep wolf so he’s in my question mark range. Not at the top of my reads but worth thinking about.

Dolphin is being snarky without much actual content. I love snarky dolphin, but she’s usually snarky with content and not just snarky. She said she had a bad day yesterday so I’m waiting to see more of her from today.

My points yesterday with mixy still stand today, as well as the weird pippy role thing (which I honestly have no clue how she would have known regardless). I’m honestly not surprised I was (I think) the second NK target and it may be too easy to keep pushing something like this but I’m going there today.

You don’t seem quite as pushy as you normally do. It would be horrendously bad luck for you to be a wolf like three times in the last five games but you seem a bit different to me this game.

I think I agree with you that it doesn’t make much sense as a wolf move because why even bring something like that up when she would obviously get side eyed a lot when pippy flipped village with an ability
